The practice of stoicism in the modern world (Interactive presentation in the TED style)

The author shares the experience of conducting online marathons on practice of stoicism in our time. The teaching of the Stoics does not lose its relevance to modern man. The rhythm of life, accelerating every year, affects all areas of our life, including spiritual. How not to worry constantly about the future? What helps to realize oneself "here and now", to be included in the life process? Is it important what others think about me? What is harmony and how to achieve it? How to find your life path? The task of the marathon is to apply in life the advice of ancient philosophical schools, in particular, the school of Stoics. These are very simple rules that have not lost their relevance, which will help shape a new lifestyle and practice the necessary spiritual exercises (P. Hadot): 1) gratitude; 2) recognition of what depends on me and what does not; 3) attention; 4) moderation; 5) relations with people and the world; 6) understanding of their values; 7) integrity. Through a joint discussion, analysis of past experiences and the need to describe the lessons learned during the marathon, a fascinating and effective process is built not only to get acquainted with philosophy, but also its practical application in everyday life.

Caring for oneself in the information society (Presentation)

Spiritual exercises - a combination of theoretical and practical knowledge - cause a keen interest in modern man. Today we are offered a large number of ways to take care of ourselves through self-knowledge and self-change. Internet is replete with invitations to courses, webinars, and trainings on personal and spiritual growth. But unlike the schools of ancient philosophy, where knowledge was directly integrated into the way of life, today's practice of self-care has a number of problems that the author will pay attention to.
